Led the design and rollout of the SciMentor LMS at IDN (Institute of Social Sciences) — a platform supporting academic research training for early-career researchers in the social sciences.
What I did
- LMS design end-to-end — information architecture, course model, enrolment flow.
- Instructional design consulting — helping academic subject-matter experts translate research methodology into a format that actually teaches, not just documents.
- Rollout — first cohort on-boarded, content authored, feedback loop set up.
Why it’s here
Academic research training is brutally hard to move online. The discipline-specific tacit knowledge, the high-context feedback, the “let me just draw this on a whiteboard” moments — they don’t survive a vanilla LMS. Most of the SciMentor design work wasn’t about the platform; it was about making the transition — from traditional supervision into structured, scalable training — survivable.
