An experimental series pushing Articulate Storyline 360 — a tool built for slide-based e-learning — into a top-down game-like experience.
What’s working
WASD / arrow-key movement of a character across the canvas.
Scene transitions between rooms, preserving state.
Simulated collision with walls so the level actually constrains movement.
Dialogue interactions triggered by proximity, threaded back to Storyline’s native logic.
Why it’s here
Most authoring-tool ceilings are self-imposed — designers stop pushing because the tool looks like it maxes out at quizzes and tabs. The exercise is to find out where Storyline genuinely breaks, and how far past the intended use case a determined ID can take it before switching stacks.
Status
Ongoing. The demo above is the current feature state. Next passes: inventory, NPC schedules, a scored objective that closes the loop.
