A walkthrough of how I design a High-Performance Learning Journey: the decisions, the trade-offs, and the parts most L&D teams either skip or paper over.

The lens

HPLJ treats learning as a journey — not a course, not a workshop, not a curriculum — and forces the designer to answer three questions up front:

  1. Who is actually changing? Role, context, starting point, constraints.
  2. What will be different six months after they’re done? Behavioural, measurable, defensible.
  3. Which sequence of experiences moves them from A to B? Formal + informal + social + on-the-job, weighted honestly.

Skip any of those and you end up with a course catalogue wearing a strategy badge.

Why this is here

The video was built as part of a Booking.com application, but it holds up as a standalone reference for how I approach any non-trivial L&D brief. It’s also the clearest public artifact of the HPLJ certification I hold — less marketing, more design reasoning out loud.
